Un compito ingrato, questo, che tocca spesso alle segretarie per giustificare le mancanze del loro capo e per far accettare ai partner d'affari contrattempi sgradevoli.


II signor Ferrari la prega eli scusarlo, ma è in riunione e non può riceverla.
Mr Ferrari is awfully sorry, but he's in a meeting right now and can 't see you.

La signora Corradi mi ha chiesto di farle le sue scuse, ma è stata chiamata fuori sede stamattina. Ms/Miss/Mrs Corradi is very sorry but she's not in the office this morning.

Il dottor Rebecchi le presenta le sue scuse, ma è dovuto partire urgentemente per Praga. 

Mr Rebecchi is really sorry, but he had to leave for Prague unexpectedly.

Il ragionier Dazza la prega di accettare le sue scuse: cercherà di chiamarla entro le 5. 

Mr Dazza is terribly sorry and will try to call you by 5 o 'clock.
