Mark aveva lavorato per settimane per chiudere un grosso affare. Il cliente era stato difficile da gestire, e le negoziazioni erano state difficili. Ma Mark era determinato a portarle a termine.

"Cascasse il mondo, chiuderò l'affare giovedì", disse con sicurezza al suo capo.

Giovedì arrivò e mentre Mark si presentava all'ufficio del cliente, vide che il cielo era scuro e minaccioso. Controllò le previsioni del tempo e queste prevedevano un forte acquazzone nelle prossime ore.

Mark sapeva che doveva chiudere l'affare prima che piovesse. Si sedette con il cliente e andò sui dettagli finali, rispondendo alle loro domande e preoccupazioni. Mentre la riunione procedeva, Mark poteva sentire la tensione aumentare. Poteva vedere il cliente iniziare a esitare.

Poi, proprio mentre stavano per firmare l'affare, il cielo si aprì e una pioggia torrenziale cominciò a cadere. Mark sapeva che non poteva andarsene senza chiudere l'affare.

Si sedette con il cliente e negoziò per un'altra ora, mentre la pioggia cadeva fuori. Ma alla fine arrivarono ad un accordo e l'affare fu firmato.

Mark uscì dall'edificio, fradicio ma trionfante. Aveva chiuso l'affare, proprio come aveva promesso. Cascasse il mondo, aveva mantenuto la sua parola.

Mark emerged from the building, soaked to the skin, but feeling triumphant. He had closed the deal, just as he promised. Come rain or shine, he had delivered.
